Level 2 NVQ in Decorative Finishings (Painter)
You must already be working on site as a painter and have experience of working using water and oil based paints with a brush and a roller and using access platforms such as hop ups. The NVQ will allow you to obtain your blue CSCS skilled worker card required by many clients across the UK. You will have an initial discussion with your assessor about the evidence you need to collect on your particular site and how to build your portfolio of evidence. You will have two site visits to your workplace and your assessor will help you collect and complete your portfolio of evidence.
You will need to demonstrate competence in the following units:
- Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace.
- Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace.
- Moving, Handling and Storing resources in the Workplace.
- Applying surface coatings with a brush and a roller in the workplace.
- Erecting and dismantling access/ working platforms in the workplace.
- Preparing surfaces for painting/and or decorating in the Workplace.
