L2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing.

You must already be working as a plumber and hold either a Level 2 Plumbing Diploma or Certificate (C&G 6035-02 or 6129-22) and working on first and second fix.

The NVQ will allow you to obtain your blue CSCS skilled worker card required by many clients across the UK.

You will have two site visits to your workplace and your assessor will help you to complete your portfolio of evidence. You should be able to complete the NVQ in 3-6 months if you are doing relevant work. Please see additional information below

You will need to demonstrate competence in the following:

  • Maintaining a safe working environment when carrying out plumbing activities.
  • Maintain effective working relationships while carrying out plumbing activities
  • Install domestic plumbing and heating systems.
  • Decommission domestic plumbing and heating systems
  • Maintain domestic plumbing and heating systems

Additional information:

As an example of the work that you will need to have access to, your Assessor will need to witness:

  • 1 bathroom (cold/hot)
  • Another bathroom (sanitation) or a heating job
  • Decommission 1 system

You will also separately need additional evidence (photos and portfolio completion) of:

  • 1 bathroom (cold/hot)
  • Another bathroom (sanitation) or a heating job
  • Decommission another system
  • 6 maintenance jobs

The fees can be paid in instalments:

  1. C&G registration, discussion with assessor on portfolio building and evidence collection and training materials £350
  2. First site visit and assessment £350
  3. Second site visit and assessment £350
  4. Completion fee and certification and advice on applying for CSCS skilled worker card £345
